On behalf of Health Emergency Management BC, First Nations Health Authority and Island Health Community Care Facilities Licensing, this email is to provide you the following resources on extreme heat and wildfire smoke and to ask your assistance in disseminating two new resources for the 2024 Heat and Smoke season.
These letters, which were created in collaboration with FNHA and HEMBC, provide curated health advice and updated resources on smoke and heat planning and mitigation. These resources are intended to be used by local governments, community health partners and community members in their own heat and smoke planning.
We are asking that you kindly share these resources broadly. These letters will also be added to Island Health’s soon-to-be updated Heat Safety and Wildfires webpage.
