Principal’s Message

Welcome to Queen of Angels Catholic Elementary & Middle School.

Since our cornerstone was laid in 1965, our staff (past and

present) have worked tirelessly and enthusiastically to share Christ’s message of inclusion and love – it is our motto: “To Build in Love”. With this history, we are proud of the accomplishments our alumni have achieved.

Every child that enters Queen of Angels School is welcomed for what they are: precious and brimming with potential and talents that are uniquely their own. We are committed to providing your child with the opportunities necessary for them to flourish into loving, compassionate, and critical-thinking individuals. We believe in clear and open dialogue with parents and welcome the central role of parents/guardians in their child’s upbringing.

Queen of Angels School is proud of the programs and infrastructure rarely offered at other elementary schools:

Two gymnasiums to support numerous sports,

A cooking lab utilized by teachers for instructional purposes in almost every grade,

An impressive science lab with equipment and supplies sufficient for thousands of unique activities for every grade level,

Multiple class sets of Apple Notebooks, iPads, and Google Chromebooks to dovetail classroom research and project-based learning,

A standalone Fine Arts Pavilion for Band, Speech Arts and Drama Productions,

Specialist instruction in Music, French, Cultural Studies, and Physical Education from Grades K through 9.

We invite you to come to Queen of Angels School to experience for yourself how our students love to learn and learn to love.

– Mr. Brian Untereiner

Principal

About Queen of Angels

Queen of Angels School is situated on eleven acres in the heart of the Cowichan Valley.

The school currently enrolls students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 as well as operates Angel Care, a daycare program for children ages 3 and 4.

Developing The Whole Child

Queen of Angels is a welcoming community where the emphasis is placed on developing the whole child – Spiritually, Physically, Intellectually, Culturally, Emotionally, Socially, and Artistically. Students are guided by Catholic tradition, encouraged to produce their best possible work, and urged to participate in sports and other extra-curricular activities.

To Build In Love

Our students continue to learn what it means to serve the larger community as we continuously support the local Food Bank, Warmland House, Chalice Foster Children and other local, national and international charities. Our motto, “To Build in Love”, comes from Ephesians 4:13.

Hear From Our Teachers

“It has been a privilege to serve and be part of ICS for the past 22+ years. Born and raised in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, I am a teacher and former student of Queen of Angels School. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing staff and students. Queen of Angels is not just a school…It is a family. We support each other and provide a warm and loving environment where students and families feel safe and enjoy learning. We encourage our students to be the best they can be in a safe and inclusive environment. Students are supported in a Christian environment practicing our school G.O.A.L.S. (Gospel Values, Ownership, Attitude, Leadership). I feel truly grateful to be part of such a loving and wonderful community.”
