Welcome to the Catholic Independent Schools of the Diocese of Victoria!
We have a long, rich history of providing parents a quality education for their children within a faith-based setting.
Our Mission Statement states: The Catholic Independent Schools of the Diocese of Victoria are committed to Catholic Education founded on gospel-centered values and the teaching and traditions of the Catholic Church. We will continue to be models of love and hope as we build a new future for our Diocesan community and the wider global community.
The dedicated staff members in our schools are committed to nurturing the “whole” child in Christ-centred communities of learning. We strive to help our students reach the highest levels of development they can achieve by providing them with exceptional learning opportunities that will stimulate growth in knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviours and personal values in line with our Catholic beliefs.
Allow us the opportunity to support your child to develop to their full spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social potential in a safe and nourishing environment. Catholic education in BC is a unique opportunity and gift that you can give your children now in preparation for their future. Catholic education, a Gift that will last a lifetime!
Blessings,
– Katja Groves

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Victoria acknowledges with gratitude that we work, play, and pray on the territories and traditional lands of the Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and Kwakwaka’wakw Peoples. In the light of this truth, and in humility, we commit ourselves to continue to work for reconciliation, and for respectful relationships with the Creator and all creation.

What Makes Island Catholic Schools Different?
The following values contribute to the culture and ethos of a Catholic school
Standards and Curriculum
Island Catholic Schools follow the BC Curriculum as determined by the Ministry of Education. In addition, diocesan approved programs of Religious Studies and Christian Family Life complement the BC Ministry of Education curriculum. Each school has the option to develop and approve locally developed courses appropriate to the school and grade. Click here to learn more.
Parental Involvement
Parents and teachers are partners in education. In Island Catholic Schools, parents are encouraged to be actively involved in the school. Besides volunteering at the school, parents may become involved on the Parent Support Group and/or Local School Council.
International Students
Island Catholic Schools welcome international students to both our elementary schools and our High School. Our international student programs serve to enrich the education for both visiting students and local students.
