Orange Shirt Day & Truth and Reconciliation Walk

On Friday, Sept. 27h, at 10:35 am, Queen of Angels Catholic School will have a whole-school assembly to allow our students to recognize and learn more about the significance of Orange Shirt Day and Mrs. Phyllis Webstad’s experience at a residential school. To show our recognition of the impact of residential schools, staff and students are encouraged to wear orange clothing instead of their normal school uniform. Our school is truly grateful that we will have an Elder speak to everyone at the assembly. Cowichan Tzinquaw Dancers will add to the solemnity of the gathering. Family members and loved ones are most welcome to join us at this important assembly. On Monday, September 30th, at 8:00 am, many of the Queen of Angels School staff will walk from the school to join the community walk for Truth and Reconciliation from Charles Hoey Park(which will commence at 9:30 am). All are welcome to either join us at the school (by 8:00 am), or at the park (by 9:15 am): “Wear orange, bring signs and an open heart.”
